Design4Science

There is a new exhibit at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm called Design4Science which is a unique project between designers and researchers and how they illustrate mollecular biology. It might seem strange at first, but even as a non-scientist, I can appreciate this exhibit. Many designers have been influenced by patterns in science which have been an inspiration for textiles and prints. It is well worth taking a look at with the help of a guided tour.

Reporting from lecture - What is Luxury

I was at the Nobel Museum this evening and attended a lecture on "What is Luxury?" presented by design students from Växjo University. They were assigned to design tableware for the Nobel banquet. They wanted to honor science and also give the concept of luxury a different meaning. Instead of focusing on traditional luxury symbols, they illustrated a new kind of luxury - peace, a good environment, good health and feeling safe. This is represented in their tableware called LOGIA. This is was very interesting perspective and here is a picture from the evening.
