While everyone is talking about Facebook and how many people are signed up, there is one social network that prides itself in its exclusivity. This closed community called A small world is by invitation only by an existing member. They have gained a lot of media attention but the secrecy of this community and what goes on or what is discussed behind these “closed” doors is what makes this private space more interesting than the public space of Facebook.

Lacoste- just doesn't get internet
Lacoste - just doesn't get it!
The lunch conversation a few days ago revolved around how difficult it was to buy the popular piké tennis shirts, Lacoste, from an online merchant. No wonder it is difficult - it's because you can't buy it online!
My colleague, a fashion conscious tech expert, brought up the subject and was appalled at the lack of consideration and even the gall of Lacoste of not being available online.
Lacoste markets itself to a young and internet savvy target group and it seems to me that they are missing a golden opportunity! Lacoste is probably not alone in protecting the exclusivity of its brand but in the long run, the mass consumer accessibility and sales should outway the short term discrimination.
